Ningaloo’s Short & Spectacular: A 3-Night Whirlwind
Ningaloo packed a punch on our action-packed 3-night getaway on May 24th. Crystal-clear waters teemed with life, from mesmerizing schools of striped catfish to vibrant convict surgeonfish adding bursts of color to the coral reefs. An octopus, although hiding cleverly under a ledge and displaying its impressive camouflage skills, did not elude us.
The magic truly unfolded when we encountered majestic manta rays soaring effortlessly through the water so close to the shore we had an audience while we swam with them.
A swirling fever of pink whiptails danced across the sand flats, a mesmerizing spectacle unlike any other. An elusive epaulette shark, rarely seen out in the open, ambled along the bottom, while a sleepy leopard shark enjoyed a lazy afternoon with its tiny remora friend hassling it like a child to show it some attention.
