5 Night Ningaloo Escape – 14th September 2023
Our 5-night journey on September 14th added a new chapter to our exploration of Ningaloo’s marine wonders. Turtles, and enormous stingrays glided gracefully through the depths. Wobbegongs, reef sharks, cuttlefish, octopus, and a vibrant cast of characters painted the underwater landscape.
Catfish, rabbitfish, and the colourful convict surgeonfish added hues to the seascape. Xmas tree worms adorned corals like living ornaments, and flounders showcased their mastery of disguise. The dinosaur-like loggerhead turtles swam elegantly, and clams added an element of refinement to the ocean floor. Moray eels and striking blue starfish were among the many wonders we encountered.
Amidst these marvels, we sunbather on the deck, sailed by breaching whales, explored the historic ruins of the Norwegian Bay whaling station, and savoured sunset walks with refreshing drinks atop the dunes.
Our underwater odyssey was enriched by fascinating encounters with the mantis shrimp and a curious newcomer (to us), the Fingered Dragonet. Yet, the true magic emerged when a lone dolphin approached us during a snorkel at Point Cloates, so curious to join in with our adventures and make friends. The most awe-inspiring encounter of a lifetime.
