1 – OVERVIEW

Overview

Sail Ningaloo, Shore Thing and her crew are available for private sailing charters and exclusive charters exploring the Ningaloo Reef. We may also be available for charters in other areas along the WA coastline where you’d like to sail, snorkel, scuba dive or explore; contact us to discuss the opportunities available. The beauty of a private charter is you can unwind knowing you are being looked after by an experienced and dedicated team.

2 – ITINERARY

Day-by-Day Itinerary

All Ningaloo Reef tours and charters depart at 4pm, which means you can fly in to Learmonth on the day of your departure and there is plenty of time to travel to Coral Bay and have a look around before joining us on board. Most days of the week you are also able to fly out the afternoon after we return at 12:30pm. Sail Ningaloo is pleased to offer airport transfers to/from Learmonth airport for all departures, please contact us for pricing and to discuss options if you are unable to find flights that you believe are suitable.

Sail Ningaloo’s tours cater for both snorkellers and scuba divers, from the not so confident, to experienced skill levels. During our regular tour departures you can expect to be offered 3 to 4 snorkelling activities per day depending on the time of year and scuba diving is offered on average 1 – 2 of those times, depending on the conditions of the day and sites visited. During a Private Charter we can tailor the activities to best suit your groups needs and interests, whether you are looking for a dedicated scuba diving adventure, or a more relaxed sailing experience. You’ll be the only guests on board and we’ll show you the best that Ningaloo Reef has to offer.

Private sailing charters are available for a minimum of 3 nights and we can comfortably cater for up to 9 guests if your group contains singles and couples, or up to 10 guests for family groups. There is no maximum duration for a Private Charter experience.

6 – LUXURY YACHTING

About Shore Thing

Shore Thing is purpose built for live-aboard sailing. A Roger Hill designed and beautifully appointed catamaran, she is 51 feet in length and 27 feet in width, extremely comfortable and stable, both at sea and at anchor.

Accommodation on board has been designed to cater for small numbers to ensure your unique experience, with a maximum of 8 – 10 guests. There are multiple shared spaces to relax both undercover, or on the deck. Shore Thing boasts an elevated helm, with plenty of seating alongside the skipper and the perfect viewpoint to observe passing marine life.

Accommodation Options:

Shore Thing has 5 toilets and 5 showers on board and beautifully designed cabins for privacy and comfort.

Top and side hatches in every cabin ensure fresh air circulation and natural light. Drift off peacefully with the comfort of luxuriously soft bamboo sheets.

Stateroom King Cabin – Private Cabin featuring private ensuite with separate toilet and shower. Bedding can be configured as a King bed or Twin beds, or even a double bed plus side bunk to cater for 2 adults & 1 child.

Deluxe Double Cabin – Private Cabin featuring private facilities just outside your cabin. Bedding can be configured as a double bed only.

7 – UPGRADES

Our small dedicated team is here on the ground looking after all of your travel needs by assisting you with booking local services including:

  • Mini-bus transfers: Transfers between Coral Bay and the airport (Learmonth) or Exmouth town can be arranged around all tour departures and returns. If you are unable to find flights that you believe are suitable, please reach out for assistance.
  • Scenic flights / transfers: Be amazed with a jaw-dropping aerial perspective of Ningaloo Reef as you soar like a bird up or down the coast, spotting marine life along the way. *Luggage restrictions apply, however if that’s the only thing stopping you, road transport for your luggage can be available.
  • Pre/Post tour accommodation: We can assist with booking a selection of accommodation options both in Coral Bay and Exmouth, there is something to suit all budgets.
  • Complimentary touring: We can assist with booking additional day tours, such as a Whale Shark or Humpback Whale swim tours, additional days diving or snorkelling to other reef locations such as the Navy Pier or Muiron Islands, as well as extended tours if you have more time up your sleeve for an extended adventure, such as kayaking or hiking expeditions.

Put this on your bucket list! 5 nights on ShoreThing exploring the Ningaloo Reef with the enthusiastic and experienced Sail Ningaloo crew is a trip of a lifetime. The yacht is spacious and comfortable, ideally fitted for snorkelling and diving. We explored several different and varied reef sites each day. The diversity of coral, fish and marine life all round was magnificent.

Spent 5 days with Luke, Bonnie and Kate on Shore Thing off the coast of western Australia. Awesome experience! We saw 7 species of sharks, were surrounded by humpback whales much of the time, saw countless fish and beautiful, healthy coral. Great food and great service. My wife and I highly recommend.

Felt privileged to have had a glimpse of something normally invisible to us city dwellers

We have both travelled widely. This turned out to be not just another trip. It was an experience; one of the very best kind. There is the reef. Amazing coral, amazing sea life small and large – some very large – and the time over 5 days with 14-15 snorkelling (or scuba) occasions each in different places allowed an appreciation of the complexity of the marine ecosystem. For example, I had never heard of a cleaning station and the sight of shark after shark coming in for “cleaning” attention from small fish was awesome.

Diving Ningaloo with the family

The five nights diving were awesome. The corals in Coral Bay are the most beautiful hard corals we had seen in a long time. The waters were full of humpbacks, sharks and mantas. The crew and our dive instructors were world class. They produced a movie about our trip and the diving. What an amazing effort for our little group. We watched it 20 time since we left the boat. In summary: Amazing, amazing, amazing. Go if you can!

The organising crew were simply outstanding in getting all the details and logistics sorted well in advance and then the crew on the boat were wonderful in making our diving and snorkelling adventure a trip to remember. The experience was well beyond our expectations and the Sail Ningaloo team made the special well over the top.

Shore Thing is Sure thing

They organise at least 3 water based activities a day, mostly diving amongst the amazing inner reef area of Ningaloo. The fish, coral structures, turtles, manta rays, whales and sharks are in abundance and are a testament to the health of the reef. The young crew of Shore Thing looked after us and the food was excellent. Sailing Ningaloo is one of the best ways to see one of natures wonders.

Incredible experience

As part of our 6 week Australian trip, we spent 3 nights on A Shore Thing and 3 nights at Sal Salis. The snorkeling was amazing. Swam with Manta Rays! The food prepared by Kate was fabulous.. Fresh and very tasty. Accommodations were very nice. Chris, the skipper, was a great captain as well as a masterful grillmeister. The crew was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable.
